Take the guesswork out of getting dressed each day!

Five looks, five days. Each Monday I bring you five of the best looks for the fall season that you can recreate, move around, tweak to suit your tastes, etc. I will highlight the type of occasion that might be appropriate for each look but also offer you plenty of alternatives to fit your lifestyle! Don’t really have a need in your life for dressy outfits? I’ve got you covered! My advice will cover adaptations for all of the outfits. Then on Tuesday, I will give you a shopping list to use to find the pieces that you will need to recreate each look. Shop your closet, shop the mall, shop online and spend the rest of the week rounding up the pieces that you need. When the new week rolls around, you are dressed in minutes each day because everything is already decided!

Monday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

You are going to LOVE this outfit because it is easy to wear, super comfortable, and the price is right! This sweater has such a great fit and it is under $20, making it my new favorite! It’s roomy enough to feel comfortable and it is thick enough to camoflouge any areas that you might not want to highlight! The distressed jeans trend just keeps evolving and this pair that I am wearing is one of the best in my opinion. I think it’s just the right amount of rips, a little relaxed without giving you a saggy bottom and slightly cropped for wearing with booties or flats.

Where to Wear:

Lunch with the girls, Casual birthday party, Shopping, Running errands, Pop concert

Make it Unique:

This sweater is so versatile and you could wear it a million different ways, depending upon your mood and the occasion. For a night out, pair it with a black skirt and over the knee boots or throw on a pair of black pumps with your jeans. It can also be worn with black jeans and a pair of black flats for a business casual look or with dressy black pants and heels for a more elevated office look. And if you are busy running errands or chasing kids around all day, switch out my booties and wear a comfy pair of black ballet flats with your distressed jeans!

Tuesday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

So, I know that this outfit might not be an obvious choice for everyone, but I think it is a really flattering choice for many different women. This top is a bodysuit and I love the way that the ruffles draw the eye to the shoulders and widen the look of the shoulders. Although you may question why anyone would WANT to widen a part of their body (HA!), by widening the shoulders we bring an emphasis to the narrowing of the waist and create an hourglass shape! It’s genius! Pairing the bodysuit with a high-waisted, dark pair of skinny jeans with lots of stretch elongates the legs and keeps everything looking sleek!

Where to Wear:

Shopping, Meeting at kid’s school, Lunch with the girls, Date night, Pop concert

Make it Unique:

I get it. Some days a bodysuit feels like a special form of torture. Me too. On those days, swap it out for a top with a strong shoulder silouhette or ruffles in the front. It will give you the same hourglass effect, without the bodysuit underwear!

Wednesday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

If you only add one dress to your closet this season, make it THIS ONE! It is truly amazing. A little body-con, but totally slimming with ruching in all the right places. I typically steer away from this type of dress, but I was shocked when I tried it on and there were no unsightly bulges and it was amazingly comfortable. It is a perfect layering piece for fall and winter, giving you endless possibilities and making the price per wear next to nothing! Blazers are a hot trend for fall, and this one is long enough to cover your backside, but tapered enough to give you a nice waistline! And let’s be real…over the knee boots are sexy while also covering over half your legs. Win-win!

Where to Wear:

Date night, night out with the girls, Business casual office (swap out the over the knee boots for tights and short booties), Birthday party with friends, Fancy dinner

Make it Unique:

There are truly so many ways you can wear this amazing dress. If the over the knee boots are too much for you, swap them out for black tights and a pair of short booties. For a more casual look, switch out the blazer and throw on a long sweater over your dress with a pair of short booties. And if you love the look of the over the knee boots, but don’t want a heel, change them out for a flat pair. I own both and depending upon how much walking I will be doing I use them interchangeably with the same outfits.

Thursday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

This outfit is a winner because the color combination of burgundy and pink is totally unexpected and it is what I like to call “elevated casual.” The satin material of the top mixed with the velvet of the shoes makes this outfit look so luxe without the high price tag that you would typically expect from pieces like this! And last, but certainly not least, these jeans are Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s couch exciting and I cannot stop wearing them. They are Levi’s (who knew they would come back around?!?) and they don’t have as much stretch as some of my other jeans, but that means that the denim holds it’s shape and keeps the tummy lookin good. It’s like Spanx in a pair of jeans! Hallelujah! The wider leg helps balance out the curve of the hips and I have yet to find anything they don’t look good with!

Where to Wear:

Running errands, Meeting with the teacher, Dinner with the family, Lunch with the girls, Shopping, Birthday party with friends

Make it Unique:

This top could certainly be dressed up with a black skirt and over the knee boots for a night out. It is also a great layering piece under leather or suede jackets, as the sleeves are thin and easy to slide under a jacket. The kitten heel on these shoes makes them pretty user friendly, but this could also be worn with a pair of pink ballet flats for a busy day with the kids!

Friday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

My love for the wrap dress has been fully documented, but this little number is worth mentioning for so many reasons. The dottie print is so fun and playful and it one of those pieces that can take you from spring all the way to fall with a few minor adjustments. I love the Parisian flair that the espadrilles add to the dress and they are the MOST comfortable pair of shoes that is not a sneaker that you will ever wear! I wore these on a day where the hubs and I logged 27,000 steps in Paris and didn’t have a single blister.

Where to Wear:

Lunch with friends, Performance at kid’s school, Baby shower, Shopping, Kid’s birthday party, Meeting with teacher, Business casual office, Country music concert (switch out the espadrilles for cowgirl boots)

Make it Unique:

During the spring and summer, you can switch out the espadrilles for a flat sandal and leave the jacket at home.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a comprehensive shopping list for all of these outfits!
