The central theme of my outfits this week is sweaters, so what better song to encapsulate these looks than Undone-The Sweater Song by Weezer. I remember when that song came out in 1994 I was a freshman in high school and everything about that first year felt like freedom. I suddenly had a boyfriend, I made older, more mature friends that could drive, and 90s grunge music so perfectly expressed our teenage angst and desire for rebellion. It was as if those singers were going through the same trials and tribulations that we were in our small town and they fully understood how hard is was to be your authentic self. Even today, when I happen to hear a Nirvana song on the radio, I am instantly transported back to lockers, lunchrooms, and first loves. All in all, not a bad place to be☺️ So, enjoy my week of sweaters inspired by the grungy 90s!

Monday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

How cute is this sweater for Christmas Day?!? I wore this exact outfit for a neighborhood Christmas party that I hosted at my house last weekend, but I am planning to repeat it again with my family on Christmas Day. I just love that this sweater is festive and fun without crossing over into the ugly sweater category! This black suede skirt has been one that I have worn many times this fall and although it has sold out, I have linked several other choices that would be perfect for this outfit. I love wearing tights with fun patterns and pairing them with my sock booties. My legs stay warm and no one knows that my legs are ghostly white!

Where to Wear:

School Christmas party, Christmas Day, Friend’s Christmas party

Make it Unique:

The most obvious change that you could make to this outfit would be to wear the sweater with black pants instead of the skirt. You could choose a pair of skinny black jeans or a wider leg pair of high waisted dress pants. I have linked options for both of those in tomorrow’s post! You could also make this look even more festive by wearing red heels instead of the boots.

Tuesday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

Fun fact: When I shot this look with my husband, it was 45 degrees and the wind was whipping all around us, making it feel even colder, so if I look a little crazy, you know why😆 Combine that with the fact that it was 8:00 in the morning and I am NOT a morning person, and it is a miracle that we have a picture of this outfit at all! This sweater is one that I have had for many years and it is a simple, timeless cardigan that can be worn and reworn in so many different ways. Since it has been in my closet for a few years, I linked several similar ones that would be great for this look! These boots are a recent purchase, so I have been looking for different ways to style them because I just love them so much! I decided to stick with easy, neutral colors for this look and it turned out to be one of my new favorites!

Where to Wear:

Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Volunteering at school, Shopping

Make it Unique:

If you don’t have a green cardigan like this one, a camel one would also look great with this outfit. I also love to change out the white cami and pair the green cardigan with black cami and shoes.

Wednesday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

This sweater has been all over Instagram this fall and it sold out really quickly, but I have linked several other gray cardigans that would look great with this outfit. These jeans are my absolute favorites right now, which came as a complete shock to me, as I did not think I could pull these off. And believe me, I questioned myself, but then I remembered that I live with three people that tell me the absolute brutal truth about my fashion choices. So I have deduced that they must look acceptable for public consumption! In my opinion, they are the perfect amount of relaxed without looking too big and baggy. A low, block heel is a great way to add a little dressiness to an otherwise casual look. I love the classic cap-toe detail on this pair and they are super comfortable to walk in!

Where to Wear:

Shopping, Lunch with friends, Volunteering at school, Running Errands

Make it Unique:

You can switch out my cap toe heels for a similar pair of flats if that is more comfortable for you. I also love this gray cardigan with light colored camis underneath, such as blush pink or white.

Thursday

Red Tie Sweater Bow Flats

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

The tie detail on the back of this sweater is so cute and unique and I love that the hem is slightly shorter in front and longer in the back. With the shorter hem, I like to pair it with a looser pair of denim and these are my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. The light wash is so on-trend right now and the high waist makes sure that the tummy is held in place. I finished the look with these fantastic Zara burgundy bow flats in my favorite fabric for fall; velvet! The best part about this outfit is that all three pieces are super affordable!

Where to Wear:

Shopping, Running errands, Lunch with friends, Volunteering at school

Make it Unique:

If the bow flats are a little too “extra” for you, I have linked a few other styles that are a little more simple.

Friday

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

I did a post last week highlighting my favorite statement coats, and this one certainly falls into that category! When I tried this one on in the store, my daughter said I looked like “one of those rappers wearing a big gold chain.”😂 So, naturally, that sealed the deal on this coat for me. It does feel very over the top, but I promise it will keep you so warm with the teddy bear material and the longer hem! I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple and monochromatic black to let the coat be the star of the show.

Where to Wear:

Date night, Girl’s night out, Shopping

Make it Unique:

I have linked a few different camel coat options for you to pick the style that is right for you. I love the idea of doing a neutral winter white look with the camel coat by layering it over a white cami and jeans and adding camel boots.
