As a girl growing up in the 80s and 90s, it was pretty much a requirement to be a Mariah Carey fan. She had the singing chops of Whitney with the fun, catchy lyrics of Britney. I owned all of her tapes and they were on regular repeat in my boom box. So it’s no surprise that I channeled Mariah’s We Belong Together for this week’s collection of looks. Sometimes I’m not sure if certain elements of an outfit really work together, but I have no doubt that each of the pieces in these looks were made for each other. Black leather skirt with leopard heels? Yep. Classic tan suede skirt with contrasting black over the knee boots? In love. Comfy white sweater with easy slip-on red mules and red statement earrings? Nothing better. There is undeniable harmony amongst these individual pieces and I’m putting my stamp of complete approval on this week’s looks!

Monday

Red Mules White Sweater outfit

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

This look is what I consider FUN! I know some people like to wear head-to-toe neutrals and I think that looks so great on them, but I am a girl who loves color and print. Life is too short to wear boring clothes! (This quote is actually hanging in my closet!) The truth is, for as cute as this look is, it is also just as comfortable. This sweater is so easy to throw on with any top and I love that the weave is tight enough to block out any cold air from blowing against my arms. #coldpeopleproblems If you haven’t tried the mule shoe trend yet, you are missing out! They look polished like a ballet flat, without any uncomfortable heel rubbing! They are the perfect throw on and go option for a busy day of running around town. Finally, if you are looking for a pair of earrings that will garner compliments every time you wear them, look no further than these tassled beauties. They are a conversation piece whenever I have them on.

Where to Wear:

Running errands, Volunteering at school, Meeting with teacher, Lunch with friends, Shopping, Kid’s birthday party

Make it Unique:

If you’re not ready to make the leap to quite this much bright, bold color, just choose one piece of your outfit to wear in red. For a dressier look, swap out my sweater for a camel leather jacket and wear a pair of red heels!

Tuesday

Black leather skirt leopard heels outfit

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

While the color scheme of this look is simple, each of the elements of the outfit contain something special, making this anything but boring! This white sweater is perfect for layering, with a thin silhouette and a fabulous ruffle sleeve detail. I love the versatility of a black leather skirt because it can pair with just about any top in your closet. And animal print never goes out of style, so this is a pair of shoes you can wear now and 20 years from now. Just be prepared to stop traffic and turn a few heads in this look!

Where to Wear:

Lunch with the girls, Friend’s birthday party, Date night, Girl’s night out, Pop concert, Christmas party, New Year’s Eve

Make it Unique:

If leather skirts aren’t your cup of tea, you can wear a pair of high-waisted black pants or a pair of black skinny jeans with this look. Give this outfit a casual spin by leaving the heels at home and wearing a pair of leopard ballet flats. If the weather outside just won’t allow for bare legs, throw on a pair of over-the-knee boots for a little more coverage!

Wednesday

Tan suede skirt over the knee boots outfit

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

There are not enough words in the English language to describe how I feel about this look😍 This skirt is oh-so-flattering and I think you will find that the tan color pairs with white just as well as it does with black. It is a nice, sturdy suede fabric, which I love because it doesn’t show any lumps or bumps. I love that this top is flowy and features shimmer dots throughout the fabric! These over-the-knee boots are a bit of an investment, but I feel like they are worth the price given the superior quality. I will also link a few more affordable pairs for your shopping enjoyment!

Where to Wear:

Lunch with the girls, Friend’s birthday party, Date night, Girl’s night out, Pop concert, Winter wedding shower, Business casual office

Make it Unique:

This outfit would look just as good with a pair of flat boots or with a pair of tights and shorter booties. If you need to dress this look up, throw a black blazer on over the top and you are good to go! For another color scheme, try switching out the black top for a white one with a pair of leopard heels!

Thursday

Pink and gray sweater lace up flats outfit

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

This sweater is one that I have had in my closet for over a year, but the colors and pattern are timeless, making it easy to wear for years to come. You will love that the colors in this look are neutral, but the patterns and details make it interesting. This sweater pairs perfectly with a plain white tee and is comfy enough to wear from breakfast to bedtime without needing a costume change. The lace up detail on these gray flats add a little extra interest an otherwise simple pair of shoes. This is the kind of look I reach for when I have a busy day of errands and school volunteering, but I still want to feel polished and cute!

Where to Wear:

Lunch with the girls, Running errands, Volunteering at school, Shopping

Make it Unique:

This sweater would also look great with a pair of white jeans for a mono-chromatic look and a pair of kitten heels can replace my flats for a more dressed-up look.

Friday

Workout outfit

Feel Like a Million Bucks:

In the interest of full disclosure, I am going to share with you that I generally do not wear this type of outfit anywhere other than the gym. I know the athleisure trend is going strong and some moms only wear leggings for their pants these days, but that just isn’t me. #leggingsarenotpants I just think that it is really hard to pull off spandex as your actual pants for most women (me included!) So, in my opinion, this look is perfect for going to the gym, going for a walk with friends, or maybe a quick trip to Walmart for emergency midnight ice cream. These leggings are one of my favorite buys this season because they are super high-waisted, comfortable enough to actually work out in, and nice enough that they can be dressed up with a long sweater and a pair of flats or mules! This jacket from Carrie Underwood’s athletic line is exactly what you need for a casual, lightweight layer for outdoor sports or weekend errand running. Also, I am obsessed with these Nike tennis shoes. I usually shy away from athletic tennis shoes with jeans, but I feel like these are sleek enough that they can work with a jeans and casual top outfit. That is a win-win for me!

Where to Wear:

Going to the gym, Walking with friends, Late night grocery store run

Make it Unique:

I love to wear this jacket and tennis shoes with jeans for a quick errand run or for working around the house on the weekend. These leggings are also fantastic with a long sweater and a pair of mules.
